The DTI Bagwis Program, formerly known as the DTI-Certified Business Establishment Program was launched on July 26, 2006. This program was crafted for the purpose of giving “due recognition to establishments that uphold the rights of consumers while practicing responsible business where consumers get the best value for their money.” All DTI-accredited establishments can join this program and be eligible to become a Bagwis Seal Awardee upon compliance with the set parameters by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). This program has three levels of award: bronze, silver, and gold, each has a designated set of parameters.
During the launching of the Consumer Welfare Month in October 2018, RBG Computers, Cellshop, and Enterprises got its first ever Bronze Bagwis Award, along with seven (7) other establishments in the province of Ifugao. Then in May 2021, RBG Computers once again received an award, this time it leveled up from bronze to a Silver Bagwis Award. Subsequently, last February 2022, we finally received a Gold Bagwis Award. RBG is the first and only Gold Bagwis Awardee in the province of Ifugao.

Participating in this program and gradually earning these awards, from bronze to gold, shows our continuous effort in improving our business for the best interest of our customers. Before we were selected as a Bagwis Awardee, we complied with various criteria set by the Department of Trade and Industry. Qualifications for the Bronze Award are compliance with Fair Trade Laws, having a Customer Welfare Desk in place, and effective store management operations.
RBG Computers observe Fair Trade practices such as selling standardized and genuine products, providing discounts and warranties as applicable, and indicating prices on displayed products. This is in compliance with the Consumer Act of the Philippines which “requires appropriate tags, labels, or markings that indicate the prices of consumer products sold in retail.” With these, we can guarantee our customers that we’re selling products at reasonable prices based on SRP. Also, price is a major consideration when buying a product so by using price tags, we can help our customers make an initial purchase decision faster.
We have also set up a Consumer Welfare Desk(CWD) to facilitate customer complaints and the provision of information to them. We gained our silver award by consistently observing these parameters and integrating social commitment and responsibility in our business. We have also complied with quality management system requirements as provided in the guidelines of ISO 9001, as a requirement for the Gold Bagwis Award.
Partaking in this program for many years, RBG Computers became partners with the DTI in promoting customer-friendly business practices. As a Bagwis Awardee establishment, we can assure our customers that we always have their welfare in mind as we perform our business. However, consumer protection is a joint responsibility of both business owners and customers so all consumers are encouraged to know their rights and responsibilities to avoid being mistreated or misled by businesses.
